She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Smith and Mary Smith; and her siblings, Jeffrey Smith and Sherry Breeden. She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Johnston; her stepdaughter Emily Brooke Johnston; her brother Pudge Smith (Patty); and her niece Brittany Muckleroy. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

“I was so saddened to learn of Kathy’s passing. I remember Kathy as being such a jovial person, always smiling and laughing. Kathy, her late sister, Sherry and I took a trip to Jacksonville Beach in my ‘62 VW Beetle. What a fun trip! Kathy kept us laughing all the time. There wasn’t a dull moment with her. I now think of her husband and brother. I hope all the good memories will help heal your hurting hearts. Take comfort in knowing Heaven has gained a beautiful Angel in Kathy.”
