John McCarter Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John McCarter of Louisville, Tennessee, who passed away on October 13, 2022 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John McCarter and Vola McCarter; his siblings, Emma Ogle, J. C., Carolyn Jackson and Steve McCarter; his nephew Dennis Ogle; his parents-in-law, Oscar and Inez Watson; his siblings-in-law, Margaret Rose and Max Watson; his aunt Blanche; his uncle Robert Brashear; and his close friends, Jack Demarcus and Tom Cate.

He is survived by: his wife Dortha McCarter; his daughter Karen Whitson (Sam); his granddaughter Marissa Valentine (Bundy); his great grandchildren, Abigail Brakebill (Dakota) and Olivia Valentine; his great great grandchild Kace Brakebill; his nephew Todd Rose (Tracy, family: Maegan Leon); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brystol, Braylann, Brandon Rose, Katie Bowman (Anthony Singleton) and Marah Bowman; his siblings, Larry McCarter (Frankie) and Jerry McCarter (Janet); his sisters-in-law, Joyce McCarter and Jeri Watson; and his close friend Marilyn Cate. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
