He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy and Alma Arminda Thompson; and his son James William Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Nit Thompson; his children, Sherley Martin of Corbin, KY and Johnny Thompson of Maryville; his siblings, Dorothy Croft, Norma Thompson, Patricia Roberts and Carl; his sister-in-law Hallie Thompson; and his granddaughters, Meghan Dockery of Michelle Thompson, J. T and Annette Kvale. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
