He was predeceased by: his son Stan Ballard; and his parents, Chaptman Ballard and Audie Pearl Ballard. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ballard; his daughters, Rose Justice (Doug) and Lanai Slater (Eric); his grandchildren, Skylar, Thalen, Bryant Justice, Nick Slater, Chassidy McAvoy (Bradley) and Micah Ballard (Katie); his great grandchild Copeland Ballard; and his daughter-in-law Lisa Ballard (Richard Rice).

In lieu of flowers the family would like to request donations be made to, Alzheimer's Tennessee Inc., East TN Office, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
