He was predeceased by: his children, Daniel, David and Lori; his parents, Rev. Ray and Elsie Abbott; and his siblings, Joan Abbott Sigley, William Abbott, Sandra Abbott Burkhart, Judith Abbott and John Abbott.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Abbott; his son Jeff Abbott of Loudon; his grandchildren, Megan Elyse Parker of Knoxville, Corey Beth Abbott of Knoxville, Robert E. Lee Abbott of Raleigh, NC and Andrew Alexander Abbott of Knoxville; his great grandchildren, Richard Paul Parker III and Harvey Walter Parker; his stepmother Doreen Hess Abbott; and his brothers, Mark of Florida, Matthew of Florida and Gregory Abbott of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
