He is survived by: his daughter Donna Smallen Hooks; his grandchildren, Kayla Smallen, Amy Hanson, Joyce Smallen, Shan Smallen and Michael Smallen, Jr.; and his close friend George Selvage. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
