He was predeceased by: his parents, William Francis and Betty Lou Thurman (Johnson); his wife Debra Thurman; his daughter Fern Thurman; his grandchildren, Zander Jones and Riaden Jones; and his brother Steve Thurman.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Lawson and Jeremy; his daughter-in-law Charlotte Day; his grandchildren, Jonathan Day, Vickie Lynn Day, Jacob Day, Joey Day, Thomas Adam Austerman (Madelyn) and Paislee Sales; his brother Chris Thurman; and his niece Emily Grizzle.
