He was predeceased by: his parents, Norah Barnett and Robert "Barney" Barnett; and his stepfather Joseph. He is survived by: his wife Carla; his children, Joseph Blake Barnett and Melinda "Mindi" Barnett Stone; his stepchildren, Yvonne "Nat" Peterson (AJ Daniels), Teri Watts (Jeff Watts) and Jason Farris (Danielle Farris); and his grandchildren, Alexavier Duchene, Korina Duchene, Andrew, Jessica Peterson, Alyssa Hilliard, Ciara, Cali, Lainey Farris and Karissa Lockhart. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
