He was predeceased by: his parents, Joan Radina and Charles Spafford. He is survived by: his wife Merry; his children, Matthew (Jessica), Rachael (Justin Rhinehart) and Katherine (Krysta Happy); his granddaughters, Emily, Amanda (David Stover), Sarah, Jenna and Emma; his great grandchild Scarlett Stover; his sisters, Cindy Spafford and Laurie Fila; and his siblings-in-law, Margo Zeedyk, William and Robert Hakken. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
