He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Early of Loudon, TN. and Martha Early of Loudon, TN.. He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his daughter Becky; his husband Don; his brothers, Butch and Sam; and also Erin (Tom).

It was also his wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Friends of the Humboldt Library or The Land Trust for Tennessee.
