He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Diann Miller; his father John Henry Sledge; and his brothers, David and Keith Sledge. He is survived by: his stepmother Mary Sue Banks; his brother Freddy Sledge; his children, Melanie Sledge and Hank Sledge (Michelle) of Loudon; his grandchildren, Gideon Sledge (Kelsey), Holden Sledge of Cookeville, TN, Eli Sledge of Lenoir City, TN and Summer Lane of Loudon, TN; and his close friend Dewayne "Gomer" Feezell.
