He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Simerly and Tina Simerly; his daughter Debra Simerly; his wife Valda Simerly; and his brothers, Jerry Simerly, Calvin Simerly (CF) and Parks Simerly.
He is survived by: his son David Simerly; his grandchildren, Noah, Grace and Nathan Simerly; his great grandchild Grayson Simerly; and his sisters, Juanita Meeks, Thelma Sellers and Martha Hoffmann.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Forest Cemetery (401 Concord Rd, Knoxville, TN 37934).
