He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Stanley "Stub" and Harriet Benson; his wife Mary Lou; his sons, Jerry Benson (Anne) and Greg Benson (Karen); his stepdaughters, Cindy LaCom (Peter Hanson) and Michelle Ower (Michael); his siblings, Elaine Lock (Jim), Judy Leonard (Mike) and Keith (Lori); his grandchildren, Steve (Kelly), Susie (Ryan), Andrew, Nikki, Thomas, Jenni, Holly and Fourth of July; his former wife Ouida; and his stepdaughter Karen. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
