He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Lawson; his parents, Ike Lawson and Rosie Lawson; his siblings, Isaac, Bobby, James, Robert "Doc" Lawson, Louise, Gertie and Geneva; and his children, Billy Lawson, Elizabeth Tielleman and Kellie Abert.
He is survived by: his siblings, Fred Lawson and Wilma McKelvey; his sons, Eddie Lawson and Jamie Lawson; and his stepchildren, Jeff Hughes and Tammy Newbolds. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
