She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Freeman and Lucy Belle Akins (Lee); her siblings, Johnnie Rae Akins, Linda Maynard and Mary Ruth Ryan; and her grandson Dustin Branson.

She is survived by: her husband Billy Allen Russell; her daughters, Pam (Terry Hill) and Angie (Melvin Branson); her grandchildren, Greg of Loudon, Heather Lambert of Loudon, Brittni Hill of Loudon and Brandon Hill of Loudon; her great grandchild Ethan Lambert; her brother-in-law Bill Miller; her brother Jim of Loudon; and her sister-in-law Nina Akins of Loudon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
