He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Thompson and Dora Thompson; his grandson Matthew Jacob Thompson; his siblings, Gene, Bill, Rocky, Mervin, Clifford, Donnie, Alma Nix Moore, Wanda Eller and Bernice Anderson; his niece Candy Shell; and his nephews, Billy Thompson and Rick Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Thompson; his children, Edward Thompson (Paula), Timothy Thompson (Reanah), Darryl Thompson and Charlotte Thompson; his grandchildren, Amanda Breazeale (Paul), Niki Harris (Michael), Josh Thompson (Brittany), Jesse Thompson (Bethany), Emily Best (Lucas), Whitney Cordery (Tyler) and Hunter Thompson; his great grandchildren, Eli, Madison, Kiera, Ian, Landon and Jayce; his siblings, David Thompson (Petey), Sam Thompson (Deb), Joyce Colvard (Gene) and Mary Shell (Johnny); and his nieces, Erica Neely and Presley Marie.
