He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Lambert Thearp; his daughter Marney Thearp; his parents, Benton Thearp and Nell Thearp; and his brothers, Franklin, Ben (Ruthie), Carl and Homer (Anna Thearp).
He is survived by: his daughter Peggy Whited; his grandson Aaron Matthew Whited of Loudon; and his brothers, Roy (Aileen Thearp) of Sevierville and Johnny (Brenda Thearp) of Loudon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
