He is survived by: his children, Boyd Cathey Cookeville (Rachel) of Loudon, Jon D. Cathey (Gina) of Loudon and Missi Sexton of Loudon; his stepdaughters, Kim Little of Lenoir City and Lori Thomas of Lenoir City; and his grandchildren, Tosha Mathews, Aaron, Makayla, Michael Cathey, Beka, Isaiah, Bella, Zackary Cathey, Bailey, Alyssa Sexton, Christopher Hutchens, Whitney Valentine, Brittany Norwood and Brandon Thomas.
