He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Newton and Rubye Newton; and his siblings, Bud, Pete Newton, Peggy Lumpkins (David Martin) and Lee Martin (Cody Crews).

He is survived by: his wife Maxine "Grace"; his children, Stephen Newton (Kim), Mark Newton (Mindy) and Lynn Martin (David); and his grandchildren, Cody Crews, Austin Newton, Lee Martin and Allie Thomas.
