He is survived by: his sons, Josh Simpson and Colby Simpson; his siblings, Flonnie Cooper, Treva Norris, Brenda Cooper (Joe), Linda King, Lester Simpson (Jeannie), Jack Simpson (Cindy), Lonnie Simpson and Ronald Simpson; and his niece Julie Cooper.
