He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Hetcel and Mozell Hetcel (Payton); his sons, James and Thaddius Hetcel; and his sisters, Sharon Hetcel and Carol Monech.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Joyce Barrett; his children, Richard Hetcel, Jr. (Dina) and Tracy Springer; and his siblings, Rudolph Hetcel (Marie), Harold Hetcel, Johann Marks and Linda White (Bob).
