He is survived by: his mother Arlene Hovis; his wife Gayle Hovis; his children, Amy Hovis of Marquette, MI, David Hovis (Tara) of Bancroft, MI and Brad Hovis (Jamie) of Jacksonville, FL; his granddaughters, Kristina, Amelia, Vivian and Lydia; and his siblings, Pam LaFavor (Jon) of North Branch, MI and Jeff Hovis (Karen) of Almont, MI. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
