He was predeceased by: his parents, Ford Bedell and Ruth Bedell (Putnam); his grandson Barney Bedell; and his siblings, Jim Bedell, Eileen Nielson, Annette Sharp and Myrna Stanridge.

He is survived by: his wife Flora Mae Bedell; his children, William Bedell (Paula), Deborah Elliott (Garnet) and Kirk Bedell; his grandchildren, Bethany Baker (Chris), Angela Jennings, Alex Bedell and Nathan Scripter (Pam); his great grandchildren, Patrick Jennings, Iona Jennings and Kendall Baker; and his siblings, Joyce Helm (Stan) and Gerald Bedell (Carol). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions in Bernard's memory would be appreciated to Carriage Town Ministries or Flint Central Church of the Nazarene.
