She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Cole and Ruby Cole; her siblings, Charles Cole, David Cole, Joyce Mays, Janie Roberts and Lisa Jennings; and her niece Ladonna Manis.

She is survived by: her husband Gary Whetsell Sr.; her children, Kimberly Whetsell-Martin and Gary Whetsell Jr. (Melissa); and her siblings, Hazel Cody, Nancy Lessman, Barbara Manis, Peggy Wilkerson, Tammy Fawbush and Scott Cole.
