He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Smith and Gertrude Smith; and his brother Kenneth A. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Emma Sue Rosenbaum Smith; his sons, Joseph S. Smith and Christopher L. Smith (Amanda); his grandchildren, Brandon Smith (Cheyanne), Justin Smith (Lidia) and Sarah Smith; his siblings, Johnnie Smith and Joann Rosenbaum; and his close friends, Keshia, Alexis and Hailey.
