He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Bowman and Louise Bowman; and his brothers, Kenny Bowman, Charlie Bowman, Bill Bowman and David Bowman.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Charlene Bowman; his son Jason Ronald Bowman (Felicia); and his grandchildren, Summer Nicole Bowman (Peyton) and Taylor Thomison.
