He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Patterson and Mary Patterson; his brothers, Tommy Patterson and Jeffrey Paterson; and his sisters-in-law, Janice Yates Patterson and Wendy Patterson.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Patterson; his children, Blake Patterson (Melissa), Cole Patterson (Marie), Bobby Carroll (Brenna) and Katie Carroll; his siblings, Joel Patterson, Judy Melton, Janice Jones (Gary), Joy Thomason (Bud) and Jan Page (Bill); and his grandchildren, Brett Patterson, Tori Carroll, Carrie Patterson, Christian Carroll, Addie Patterson, Tyler McFadden, Carson Carroll, Kendall McFadden, Cora Patterson, Colton Carroll, Lana Patterson and Millie Patterson.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Sunday, December 1st 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Reed's Chapel. A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, December 1st 2024 at the Lexington Cemetery.
