He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Nichols; his children, Johnny Nichols, Stephen Walter Reisser (Meredith), LaFonda Lynn Cataline (Johnny) and Casandra Casey Nichols (John Coker); his stepdaughter Cindy Alyson; and his brothers, Roger Nichols and Charles Edward Nichols (Denise). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
