He was predeceased by: his parents, James Mays Speer and Leanna O'Guinn Speer. He is survived by: his children, George Speer Jr. (Nicole), Rita Sylvester (Nickie), Retonia Woods (John) and Renita Peppers (William); his siblings, Charles Speer (Geninda), Lee Speer (Sue), Betty Whitaker (late Gordon) and Phyllis Forgette (Paul); his grandchildren, Teresa Sylvester, Robin McMinn, Kyle Peppers, Ellie Mae Speer and George Speer III; and his great grandchildren, Sam and Shane McMinn.
