He was predeceased by: his parents, Brence Spivey and Mabel Stinnett Spivey; and his sister Donna Jean Spivey. He is survived by: his wife Rita Spivey of Lewisburg; his daughters, Wendy Spivey (Darryl Henry) of Pulaski and Misty Spivey of Chapel Hill; his brother Gary Spivey of Lewisburg; and his grandchildren, Kelton Spivey, Kalyssa Bills, Takeo Bills and Devyn Henry.

“Hello, Mike was my 1st cousin. My daddy, Harvey Leander, was the younger brother of his daddy Brence. Growing up, we used to visit Brence and his family fairly often. But as adults, we lost touch. The last time I saw Mike was at my mother's funeral at London's funeral home in Lewisburg March 5, 1995. I am sad that we lost touch and really sad that he and Donna Jean both are gone. I have good memories of both. I found out about this from Familysearch.com, a genealogy site which is free.”
