He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. "Shorty" Sherrell and Sarah E. Banton Sherrell; his wife Lynda Green Sherrell; and his son Ric Sherrell. He is survived by: his children, Mick Sherrell of Bowling Green, KY and Nichole Sherrell (Debbie Herald) of Bowling Green, KY; and his stepson Douglass Donohue (Kayla Smith) of Oregon. He is also survived by three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
