He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Watson and Virginia Watson; his son Tommy Watson; and his grandson Neil Watson. He is survived by: his wife Vernetta Watson; and his children, James P. Watson, Richard Watson, Curtis Denton and Kimberly Denton. He is also survived by Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
