He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ragsdale and Lela Ragsdale; his wife Betty Ragsdale; and his siblings, Clyde Ragsdale of Bill Ragsdale, J. L, James Ragsdale, Bobby Ragsdale, Tom Ragsdale, Louise Hargrove and Maggie Smotherman.
He is survived by: his children, Gerry Ragsdale and Tammy Whaley (Tommy); his grandchildren, Heather Bowman (Cody), Tabitha Hartley (Brian), Haley Pate (Josh), Savanna Ragsdale, Luke Whaley (Montana) and Becca Whaley; and his sister Laverne Ragsdale. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
