He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Gentry and Florence Fagan Gentry; his son Anthony David Gentry; and his brothers, Edward and Doug Gentry.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine "Cathy" Hodge Gentry of Lewisburg; his children, Sherri Holder (James) of Westmoreland, Shannon Gentry (Angel) of Daytona Beach, Matthew Gentry (Kate) of Lebanon and Joseph Gentry of Lewisburg; and his sister Elaine Richardson of Lewisburg. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of London Funeral Home (324 W Church St, Lewisburg, TN 37091). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at the Mars Hill Cemetery (2365 Wright Rd, Cornersville, TN 37047).
