He was predeceased by: his parents, William Glenn Phillips and Elsie Norwood Phillips; and his siblings, Wallace Dean Phillips and Elizabeth Elaine Phillips. He is survived by: his brothers, Bobby Phillips of South Carolina, Richard Phillips (Rita) of Fayetville Tn, Wayne Phillips (Brenda) of Lewisburg and David Phillips (Bonnie) of Verona. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
