He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Lee Butler, Sr. and Viola Hammonds Butler; and his sister Pam Hodges. He is survived by: his wife Janice Williams Butler of Leoma, TN; his daughters, Holly Butler (Stephen) of Oak Ridge, TN, Sharon Butler of Unionville, TN and Sheila Payne (Dale) of Kodak, TN; his siblings, Jim Butler (Joy) of Leoma, TN and Melba Brown (Donnie) of Leoma, TN; and his grandchildren, Steven Wray, Staci Wray, Kendra Wear and Adeleine Williams. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
