It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Nell Byrd Gowen of Leoma, Tennessee, born in Florence, Alabama, who passed away on May 11, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas and Nina Jeter Byrd; her husband Dee Gowen; and her brothers, W. T. Byrd, James Byrd, Frank Byrd, Bob Byrd and Louis Byrd.
She is survived by: her children, Jane Smith (Stephen) of Campbellsville, TN and Barry Gowen (Barbara) of Killen, AL; her siblings, Malcolm Byrd of Leoma, TN, Joe Byrd of Cape Coral, FL, Margie White of Leoma, TN and Edna Parrott of Leoma, TN; her grandsons, Derrick Gowen (La Shae), Matt Gowen (Lindsay) and Steve Hagan (Alice); her stepgrandchildren, Bronson Burns and Jerry Burns; and her great grandchildren, Remington Gowen, Killian Gowen, Wesson Gowen and Delaney Gowen.
