He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Frances Smith Clanton; his parents, Cecil Clanton and Elsie Clanton; and his brother Gilford Clanton. He is survived by: his children, Ricky Clanton (Gayle), Tim Clanton (Lesa), Chad Clanton (Pam) and Tonya Haynes (Sean); and his siblings, Rex Clanton (Susan), Geraldine Gallahar, Juanita Webb and Joan Johns (Dewayne). He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, and 18 Great Grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Copperas Branch youth fund or the Gum Springs youth fund.
