He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Will and Flora Freemon; his siblings, Cleda Daniel, Imogene Woodall, James "Sonny" Teat, Verbin Teat and Bob Freemon; and his great grandchild Evelyn Reese Powell.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Rooker Freemon; his children, Kristy Reedy (Mark), Scott Freemon (Lisa), Jeff Jenkins (Rachel) and Jimmy Jenkins (Rosemary); his grandchildren, David Jenkins, Meagan McCullough (Ben), Tyler Jenkins, Katelynn Sexton (Nolan), Andrew Carlisle, Tyler Powell, Cody Powell (Paige), Zachary Reedy, Taylor Reedy, Taylen Lance, Kayle Sanders (Elijah) and Lecianna Lance; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
