He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Janet Ferrell and Lee Gunter; his siblings, Eugene Gunter (Betty) and Shirley DeCarlo; his niece Stephanie Shimizu; his nephew Bobby Lawson; and his parents-in-law, Mae Nell and Cordell Hunter.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Spain Gunter; his daughter Lynell O'Reel (Ron); his grandchildren, Andrew Gunter O'Reel (Ali) and Alexandra Grettalyn O'Reel; his great grandchildren, Zoe Elizabeth O'Reel, Hadlee Jane O'Reel and Nathaniel Gunter O'Reel; and his nieces, Kathy Carpenter (John) and Karen Rollins (Jerry).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
