She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse T. Smith and Marie M. Smith of Nashville, Tennessee.; and her sister Patricia "Patty" Hamm. She is survived by: her husband George S. Atwood; her children, Kevin T. Atwood (Denise), Kristen D. Atwood and Kayce M. Hendrix (Chris); and her caregiver Jessica C. Thomas. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the Cremation Center (9090 TN-100, Nashville, TN 37221). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association of Nashville or to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization in remembrance of Sherrie.
