He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thompson and Emma Gill Thompson; his wife Josephine Gray Thompson; and his siblings, William H. "Boots" Thompson, Glen Thompson and Margaret Sue Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Smith (Jimmy), Mark Thompson (Christy) and David Thompson (Pam); his grandchildren, Jennifer Moses (Sam), Jake Smith (Elisabeth), Tiffany Thompson and Tatum Tyler (Remington); his great grandchildren, Taylor Moses, Ella Kate Smith, Oaklyn, Rhett and Riggs Tyler; and his siblings, Bobby Thompson (Donna), Buddy Thompson (Brenda) and Ruth Lackey (Randy).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home (241 W Main St, Lebanon, TN 37087). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
