He was predeceased by: his father Charles Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Kristi Schmitz (Larson); his children, Jason House (Marie), Courtney Clary (Chad) and David House; his brothers, Andy Schmitz (Mechelle), Chuck Schmitz and Brian Player; his aunts, Patty Willoughby, Carolyn Rose (Jon) and Jeanette Davis; and his grandchildren, Madison, Noah, Abigail, Casen, Landon, Charlotte and Rylah.
He also donated his time to Hero's on the Water and spent many hours organizing, planning and putting together disabled kayak clinics with the Wheelcats organization.
