He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Helen Thomlinson Cunningham and Dallas Gordon Cunningham; his wife Sylvia Presley Cunningham; and his sister Helen Miller. He is survived by: his children, Tracy Weitzel (Brandon), Angela Puckett (John), Robert Birdwell and Chad Shearl; his grandchildren, Ashlee Mullins, Kayla Baird, Tyler Baird, Caden Baird, Chloe Weitzel, Dustyn "Cody" Gannon, Ashley Pucket, Logan Pucket, Steven Birdwell and Presley Birdwell; and his siblings, Norma Jean "Fuzzy" Gregory (Mike), Doyle "Beebo" Cunningham (Machelle) and Teresa Robinson (Ron). He is also survived by many loving great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sellars Funeral Home (313 W Baddour Pkwy, Lebanon, TN 37087). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery (609 S Maple St, Lebanon, TN 37087).
