He was predeceased by: his parents, William Talmer Stairs and Zinnia Gribble Stairs; and his siblings, Jimmy Stairs and Joyce Stairs Heiliger. He is survived by: his wife Patsy Hughes Stairs; his children, Ashley Stairs Russell (Brian) and William Taylor Tagg, Jr. (Jennifer); his granddaughter Adrienne Russell; his sister Janis Stairs; and his brothers-in-law, Phillips and Fred Heiliger.
