He was predeceased by: his parents, Lora Boston and Joseph Edward Bonner; the mother of his children Linda Bonner; his son-in-law Roy Garrett; his siblings, William "Sonny" Bonner, Joseph Bonner Jr., Margaret Agee, Curtis Bonner, Ruth Eva Norkus, John Odell Bonner, Virgil Bonner and Ruby Mae Long; and his great grandchild Dayton Lee Bryant.
He is survived by: his spouse Shannon Bonner; his children, Jackie Carpenter (Mark), Jeff Bonner, Michael Bonner (Duwana), Connie Bonner and Lisa Garrett; and his sister Mary Bell Stover. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
