He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Brewington and Maude Worley Brewington Pruitt; his children, Phillip Alan Brewington and Sherry Lynn Maynard; and his brothers, James, Calvin, Claude and Melvin Brewington.
He is survived by: his wife Edith Hix Brewington; his children, Gwyn Phillips of Lebanon, Rosalyn "Susie" Keen (Kerry) of Trousdale Co, Rickey Brewington (Tammy) of Lebanon, Michael Brewington (Debbie) of Lebanon and Nelson Brewington (Kimberly) of Lebanon; his grandchildren, Dana Moore, Amy Gross, David Hankins, Matthew Phillips, Corey Phillips, Glenda Kisner, Tabatha Hottes, Daniel Brewington, Whitney Hoover, Kalyn Resha, Jordan Brewington, Shonda Gray and Beth Lamb; and his sisters, Annie Tucker and Geraldine Davis (John). He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of extended family.
