He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Neal Childress and Betty Evelyn Simpson Childress; his daughter Lisa Childress; and his close friend Rita Gail Jones. He is survived by: his son Shawn Brown (Creeshia) of Dallas, TX; his sisters, Betty Brown, Jacqueline Nance and Markita Childress; his stepchildren, Patrina Short, Olivia Short, Reggie Short (Livvy) and Levita Short; his grandchildren, Alexis McKinnon of Dallas, TX, Alona Henry of Dallas, TX, Kindre Childress, Jaron Lyles, Monifa Short and Dematri Short; and his close friend Ben Jordan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home (501 W Gaines St, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464). A memorial service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
