She was predeceased by: her father Nathan Cross; her son Jeffrey Gist; and her brother Gary Cross. She is survived by: her husband Julian Lee Gist; her mother Pauline Cross; her brother Ronnie Cross; her nieces, Brandy Jones and Alexis Oster; her cousin Neal Fourakre; and her close friends, Joyce Clark and Dorothy Mize.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
