With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Peggy Avenell Newton Lumpkins of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, born in Phil Campbell, Alabama, who passed away on September 12, 2020 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Newton and Rubye Thompson Newton; her husband Charles "Bud" Lumpkins; and her siblings, Bud Newton, Pete Newton and Elaine Johnson.
She is survived by: her daughter Suzanne Beavers Gray (Al) of Lawrenceburg, TN; her grandson Scott Charles Beavers (Kaysha) of Columbia, TN; her great grandchildren, Natalie Beavers of Columbia, TN and Olivia Beavers of Columbia, TN; and her siblings, Jane Brown (Kenneth) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jim Newton (Sharon) of Perryville, AR, Glenn Newton (Maxine) of Loretto, TN, Don Newton (Cathy) of Loretto, TN and Mike Newton (Jeanette) of Loretto, TN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family suggests memorials be made to Leoma Baptist Church or Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
